We had a great day out at Silverstone race track to see
the 2010 Renault World Series.
Formula Renault 3.5, Formula renault
2.0, Megane Trophy V6, F4 Eurocup 1.6 , Clio Cup, F1 Team Exhibition and
the Pit Walk
I have never been to a race meeting before other than Natska Karting,
but the excitement of the whole thing was well worth it.
It's hard to
follow all of what's happening and you miss most of it, but to hear it ,
see it, smell it and feel it is something you can't experience on the TV
, quite amazing. (especially the cold backside and pins and needles from
sitting down, the cold wind and the sunburn, but at least the chips were
tasty )
The deafening scream of the F1 car as it shot past
at an incredible speed, the anticipation as the cars missed the apex,
ran wide and struggled on the grass and gravel runoff close to the
tyre wall, as for the rest of the track.....I couldn't see that bit
but I enjoyed it all the same
As with all race days you have the battles, winners and losers and the
inevitable mishaps.
The rule book can be very hard
at times as in all motorsport.
The Formula 3.5 winner Esteban Guerrieri had his win disqualified all
for a bit of tape on the front of his car.( technical infringement they
called it )
