still on hold..the new regulation is not in force yet..you can still use the older style bodywork and pod bars pre CIK 08 ....

but when they do change then all karts will probably need Unico/Stilo/new age 2/Birel(freeline)/ CIK 08, Stealth/Evo CIK 11 , XTR CIK 14 , etc .... This will also include the newer shaped pod bars ( both 90 degree rather than the older diagonal angle )requiring new tubes to be welded on older chassis.or get a newer chassis.

Also with the wider nose cone you may need extended rims or hubs on the front wheels..

watch this space for any further news....

As from January 1st 2010 the regulations for your karting crash helmet have changed...if you have a  BS6685 Type A standard you will no longer be able to race with them..You can still use the later BS6658 Type AFR and  the relevant Snell and FIA approved helmets...Please check for yourself in the latest handbook and regulations and TEAM LEADER before you buy any of them. ( wrong helmet-means NO race. )

Also a new ruling on another new standard for under 15s......a lightweight lid ....The CIK has introduced a new safety standard for Childrens Helmets ( Snell-FIA CMH 2007) which will become mandatory for all under 15's competing in mainland Europe with effect from 1.1.2010.

The new standard is likely to be adopted as compulsory in the UK from 1.1.2011.

As from January 1st 2010 all karts need to be fitted with a brake disc protector to prevent damage to the brake disc when running over kerbs around the track.

You can of course go out and buy these for about £25 but unless you have a newish chassis there is a very good chance the bracket just wont fit..

BUT...we have made the first BKC prototype in the workshop ..looks exactly like the real thing and the bracket will be custom made for each individual kart ......cost about £3.50 and a bit of time.........
