Engine Numbers ( extract from B10.3 )
'Any engine used at the National sprint
Championship meeting must have been
used by an eligible driver at a minimum
of three NatSKA approved race
meetings
during the preceeding
twelve months. Exceptionally where a
driver cannot reasonably comply with
this requirement (for example where a
“blown” engine has been necessarily
replaced) a formal request with
supporting evidence should be made to
the Directors who, at their absolute
discretion, may elect to grant a waive'

At long last..the new regulation has been clarified.

As from 1st January 2011 all karts will  need to conform ............................
C4.7.1 Lateral Bumpers or side pods
must be fitted to all classes of kart on
both sides and shall comply with the
requirements of Appendix P. CIK
homologated and crash-tested
bodywork must be fitted to all post-
2003 homologated chassis. Pre-2003
homologated chassis must be fitted with
CIK homologated side pods but may
utilise the original side bars and
attachment points.

.......................

Also with the wider nose cone you may need extended rims or hubs on the front wheels..

watch this space for any further news....

As from January 1st 2010 the regulations for your karting crash helmet have changed...if you have a  BS6685 Type A standard you will no longer be able to race with them..You can still use the later BS6658 Type A/FR and  the relevant Snell and FIA approved helmets...Please check for yourself in the latest handbook and regulations and TEAM LEADER before you buy any of them. (wrong helmet-means NO race.)

Also a new ruling on another new standard for under 15s......a lightweight lid ....The CIK has introduced a new safety standard for Childrens Helmets ( Snell-FIA CMR 2007 or CMS 2007) which is recommended for all under 15's

The new standard is intended to become mandatory in the UK and Natska from 1.1.2013.

BUT...we have made the first BKC prototype in the workshop ..looks exactly like the real thing and the bracket will be custom made for each individual kart ......cost about £3.50 and a bit of time.........

C6.2 Any chassis where the brake disc
comes level with or protrudes below the
level of the chassis, must be fitted with
a protection device attached laterally to
the chassis parallel to the brake disc.
This protection device must protrude
below the lowest level of the brake disc
at every point.
C6.3 A Protection device may be made
of any materials except metal and
carbon fibre

.............................................

You can of course go out and buy these for about £25 but unless you have a newish chassis there is a very good chance the bracket just wont fit..
